PUBLIC INTEREST > WATERFRONT REVITALIZATION
A major focus of the firm's public interest is the revitalization of New York City's waterfront. The firm has been actively involved in this process through litigating to stop the construction of power generation facilities on New York's East River. Working closely with City and State officials, the firm represented a large community coalition and major developer in Brooklyn seeking to stop the construction of an 1100 megawatt power plant in an area slated for parks and open space. The firm has also successfully advocated for the adoption, implementation and enforcement of the New York City's New Waterfront Revitalization Plan. Adam Perlmutter is also founder and active board member of the Greenpoint Waterfront Association for Parks & Planning, one of New York City's premier urban environmental advocacy groups.
